Captain Courage

Captain Courage is an exclusive ‘boys only’ project filled with adventurous activities to reward these children for their bravery. Being diagnosed with a life-threatening illness is a very challenging experience for a young boy. By taking part in courageous activities, our boys are given the chance to show their fighting spirit.

Jabulani Kingdom

It is so often said that laughter is the best medicine and this is exactly the kind of medicine that our Jabulani hospital entertainers administer to the children in the hospital wards. Unfortunately, it is not always possible for children to leave the hospital due to various circumstances - it is in these circumstances that the need arises for a hospital entertainer called Jabulani.

Queen for a Day

Every little girl dreams of being a beauty queen, and the purpose of this project is to treat our brave little girls to a day out of their hospital environment and crown them queen for a day. Each girl is made to feel special and beautiful to ease the effect of their illnesses on their bodies and more importantly, their self-esteem.

The Queen for a Day initiative is a Reach For A Dream project that is designed to lift the spirits and build the confidence and self-esteem of little girls fighting life-threatening illnesses.

Family Focus

While coming into contact with families when fulfilling dreams, it was realised that family relations are under tremendous strain due to the illness of the dream child. Parents try to remain strong and do not always share how they feel. Husband & wife spend very little time together. Often siblings, especially the teenagers, will act out while the younger siblings remain quiet about how they feel. Due to the huge financial strain on the family, many of them have not been on holiday, since the child was diagnosed while others have never been away at all!

Show You Care Send A bear

We bring joy and comfort to hospitalised children by giving them beautiful, warm, cuddly teddy bears. The bears provide a welcome distraction from the medical treatment that the children are receiving and will help alleviate some of the anxiety and fear that children may experience whilst they are in hospital.
