Dreams

When I went to fetch Jurie at hospital he was still getting dressed. I surprised him by giving him a springbok rugby jersey. I asked him who in the Bokke team he would like to meet and he replied Beast & Habana. I told him that he must hurry as they are waiting for him. He did not believe me!! Even when we walked into the stadium he still did not believe that he will be meeting his heroes. When Beast walked up to us he was smiling from ear to ear!! After exchanging a few words with Beast Habana joined us and he handed Jurie a box. When he opened it he found his brand new cellphone!!  He immediately asked me to take a photo of him and his heroes on his new phone!  On our way back to hospital he was frantically busy to mms the photo to family & friends.

The weather was very kind to us on the day of Lullu’s dream. When we arrived at the Boardwalk the 2 sisters made a beeline for the game centre. They tried out all the different games on offer, but Lullu was a real gambler and spend all her tokens on the game of chance!

Because it was such a beautiful day we strolled round the Boardwalk enjoying the scenery and looking at all the different little shops. Lullu was getting tired and we decided to have an early lunch at her favourite place, Spur.

Everyone in the family enjoyed the ribs & wings special, although Lullu ate very little. She was eagerly waiting for the moment when her dream will be fulfilled. She could still remember the 3 things she listed and said she would be happy with anyone of them.

When I handed her the little box she immediately knew that is not the TV she asked for! Her gorgeous smile said it all when she found her Blackberry. On our way home she did not look up once as she was too busy figuring out her phone.

Little Jessi dreamed of being a princess and having a little puppy  of her own. We planned a magical tea party for her and 3 friends. The venue was draped in pink & white with fairy lights and the table was decadently decorated with fine china and personalized cupcakes! On their arrival there were 2 fairies waiting to pamper them and make them beautiful, the big surprise was when Miss SA, Melinda Bam, joined them for the tea party! She did their hair, danced with them and shared in the lovely eats. Then it was time for her to crown Jessi as a real princess!

As Jessi was now a Princess, all she needed was a Prince. The 2 fairies blow their magic dust and in walked her own prince – a little puppy!! Jessie was speechless for a while, but soon she was lost in cuddling her puppy and did not even notice the rest of us! A magical end to a magical day for Princess Jessi!

As Bennet wanted everything to do with Spiderman we really went to town and spoiled him rotten. We gave him Spiderman bedding for his hospital bed as well as a Spiderman blanket. He just loved the Spiderman doll we gave him and he couldn’t wait to put on his Spiderman pyjamas. He was so overwhelmed with all the things he received that he didn’t know what to do first! Every time he saw someone in the passage he shouted to them: “come in, come in!” The ultimate treat for him was the Spiderman slippers he received.

He was so exhausted after all the excitement, but a very happy little boy!
