It was the last day of school, but I had to drag Litha away from school to do her dream handover! She is a very dedicated student and is in the process of having extra classes to catch up with the work she missed during the strike.

She was very excited when I fetched her and her mom from home, but had no idea where we were going! We arrived at the coffee shop in a beautiful garden setting and Litha told me that it was her birthday earlier this month, but due to financial constraints she didn’t even have a cake. We decided to make the day extra special by also celebrating her birthday!

After our cooldrinks arrived we talked about Litha’s dreams. When she opened the package containing her funky laptop bag she was speechless. When she opened the laptop she was in tears! To make it even more special there was a picture of Litha as the screensaver on her laptop! She could not believe that her dream really came true!

Rushain could not wait to go on his shopping spree. He was in desperate need for some perking up!

We fetched him and his aunt from home and our first stop was the Wimpy. While he was enjoying a scrumptious breakfast we discussed what he would like to buy. We made it clear that he should buy all the things he always wanted! He was totally blown over when i told him how much money he had!

Rushain had a wonderful time going from shop to shop to buy all the things he always dreamed of. Ben Ten clothing was a favourite, as well as famous brand name T-shirts.

At the end of the day he was totally exhausted, but nothing could wipe the grin from his face!

When Jade’s dream was assessed, she told us that she would love to dance and sing on a stage in front of lots of people. When we asked her to dance and sing, she replied “No I can’t dance or sing yet but I want to learn”.

On Jade’s dream day, we met with Jade along with her foster parent’s and their 3 children at their home. She didn’t know we were coming but they called her and said that she had visitors. The moment she saw us she knew who we were. We made a nice goody basket filled with lots of sweets, chips and a huge bunch of helium balloons.

She was amused by all the balloons and was very excited to open all the gifts. She opened the first box which was the dance mat and shouted ‘YES, I’m going to dance!’ and after she saw the Wii, she started to laugh and we could see the happiness on Jade’s face. She was overwhelmed with all the gifts, the sweets and the balloons. She took all the balloons and gave each child one and put the other balloons back on the basket. A really special dream for a special child!
